Eastenders v North Ferriby Utd Reserves
Low Farm - Kick-Off: 2.00pm
The Eastenders will look to play their first football in five weeks when they entertain North Ferriby United Reserves at Low Farm tomorrow.
Manager Dave Mack returns from holiday looking to somehow kick-on from the workmanlike performance that yielded 3pts against Cleethorpes last time out.
Skipper Neil Rutter is out with a suspected fractured arm and there is a doubt over fellow centre-half Matty Hart who has been struggling with illness during the week.
Elsewhere, Mark Hutchinson is again included in the squad as is the returning Anthony Barnett. Mack will decide tonight whether or not to call up more defensive cover, although Craig Foster will definitely not be one of those considered following recent hospitalisation.
Opponents North Ferriby have also had a hospital stay within the ranks – manager Cosi Basile having been in for a minor operation during the week. His absence has unfortunately meant we have no squad details available for what looks like being another youthful Ferriby line-up.
Despite their lowly league position in the HPL (just one point and two places above bottom club Pocklington) Ferriby are not to be under-estimated. They have already taken a point off leaders Beverley away from home and were praised by both Chalk Lane and Sculcoates for “never giving up” despite defeat to the high-flyers. They also boast a fine record at Low Farm and won last season’s corresponding fixture 3-2.
Given a weather forecast of freezing temperatures and dense fog, all at Low Farm will have fingers crossed that we are not in for yet another postponement tomorrow.
Tomorrow’s match is being sponsored by Easington Village Stores (R. H. Webster & Co).

North Newbald v Casuals
Low Farm - Kick-Off: 2.00pm
Casuals’ manager Iain McNaught has just the one doubt in his squad ahead of the game at North Newbald. Midfielder Pat Feeney fell off a ladder during the week and remains to be confirmed. Should he miss out, either Darren Dawson or Matty Findley looks set to take his place.
Striker Andy Milbank returns to the squad after work commitments (and a shunt into his manager’s car!) had kept him out of the reckoning for a couple of weeks. Pete Waddingham is also back, having been on goalkeeping secondment to the Reserves last week, while Kevin Newsam has returned from the injury he suffered shortly after coming on as a sub against Eastrington a fortnight ago.
The Casuals will be looking for 3pts against another side who’ve enjoyed an inconsistent start to the season. A record of three wins and four defeats from seven games has left Newbald in mid-table. Their erratic form was highlighted recently by a 7-2 league win over Molescroft being followed by a 0-10 cup reverse at Division 5 side Haltemprice Rangers!
Whatever the form of his opponents, however, Maccer knows that his players will have to show a vast improvement on the performance that yielded a point rather fortuitously at home to Eastrington last time out.
One other change tomorrow is likely to come in the shape of the referee, with original appointment Michael Bickerstaffe likely to be replaced given the switch of venue.
