CLUB NOTES
The “Hull City Effect” comes into play this weekend with the Tigers being at home on a Saturday for the first time since the opening day of the Premier League season. Thankfully, this shouldn’t affect matters too much at First Team level where the Eastenders are scheduled to return to action against Barton Town OB Reserves at the Euronics Ground, Marsh Lane. Manager Mack should welcome skipper Neil Rutter and Ben Holtby back into contention for places but is again without asst-mgr Dave Walmsley while Andy Graham is suspended. There is also an injury doubt over striker Gavin Thurkettle.
In the County League manager Craig Smalley may well lose Mark Hutchinson and James Rice (both KC Stadium pass-holders) for the Premier Division trip to Howden but could have asst-mgr Darren Dawson back after a recent hand injury. With Waddingham also on “City Watch”, Smalley will hope to have Appleyard, Cable or McLeod available for duty in goal. In Division 4, Manager McNaught is set to be without Dave Turley for his side’s home game against free-scoring Waterloo FC. (Please note this game has been switched to Low Farm following a mix-up on the fixture list).
Training continues at Withernsea High School Sports Hall every Wednesday (8pm-9pm).
The winners of the Eastenders 100 Club October Draw are as follows: £25, No.114 – Harry Ledgard; £15, No.37 – Trevor Lack; £10, No.12 – Carol Biglin; £5, No.29 – Jed Foster; £5, No.10 – Margaret McNaught
