EASINGTON United go to Malet Lambert YC tonight (Wednesday) looking to maintain their fine start to the Humber Premier League season.
The Eastenders followed up their opening day win over St Andrews Police Club with impressive away victories at Hedon Rangers and Pocklington Town.
At Hedon substitute Stuart Campbell came off the bench to head home the winner in a 2-1 scoreline after the home side’s Mark Sansam had cancelled out Chris Frost’s first half opener.
Easington followed this up with a resounding 7-0 success at Pocklington Town at the weekend. Gavin Thurkettle grabbed a first half hat-trick to put the visitors firmly in the driving seat and second half goals from Chris Frost (2), Stuart Campbell and Jamie Cousins completed an excellent day’s work.
Manager Dave Mackay-Dundas should have Andy Graham and Darren Thompson available this evening after both missed the Pocklington game. However Craig Lenham could be a doubt after taking a knock at The Balk.
After the trip to Malet, the Eastenders have no game this Saturday but continue their away days on their return in a week’s time when they visit North Ferriby United Reserves.
Tomorrow night sees the Reserves complete their pre-season schedule when they entertain Roos in the annual Barney Moverley Memorial game at Low Farm. On Saturday Craig Smalley’s side went down 4-2 at home to County League new boys FC Corner Bar; Steve Tennyson and Paul Farndale on target for Easington.
