EASINGTON United produced their performance of the season so far to complete a double over Humber Premier League leaders Smith & Nephew, courtesy of a 1-0 win at Hull University.
A 60th minute deflected strike from Kevin Milner earned the points to follow on September’s 2-1 win at Low Farm and keep The Eastenders in touch with the leading pack.
In fairness Smiths didn’t help themselves; striker Joey Addinall earning himself a red card for violent conduct barely twenty minutes in. But this should take nothing off an outstanding Easington display, which was put on in atrocious energy-sapping conditions by a squad with only one substitute at its disposal.
Manager Dave Mackay-Dundas will hope to have several of last week’s absentees back available for another massive fixture this weekend against fourth-placed Reckitts. The in-form visitors completed an eye-catching 4-0 win at Hutton Cranswick last weekend and have won 6-1 on each of their last two visits to Low Farm!
In the County League Premier Division, despite another battling display the Eastenders Reserves went down 2-1 at high-flying Goole side Viking Raiders; Craig Foster on target for the locals with his eighth league goal of the season.
The Club’s third-string, the Casuals enjoyed an emphatic win at Holme Rovers Reserves in Division 4. Stuart Campbell made it seven goals in two games with a first half hat-trick, while new signing Andy Milbank scored three of his own on his second half debut to help tie-up a 6-1 win.

CLUB NOTES
There is a very attractive fixture in store at Low Farm this Saturday with the Eastenders entertaining in-form Reckitts (2.00pm). The visitors extended their current unbeaten run to six matches last week with a comfortable 4-0 victory at Hutton Cranswick and they come to The Farm having won 6-1 on each of their last two visits. Easington manager Dave Mack will hope that several of his recent absentees are available to boost his selection options.
In the ER County League Premier Division the Reserves face something of a six-pointer away at Sculcoates Amateurs Reserves. Mickey Bo will be looking for a repeat of the performance levels on show in the last two games as his team aim to remain in touch with the teams just above them in the table.
The Eastenders’ Veterans section are in action tomorrow at the Destiny Fitness Ground, Saltend against Hedon Rangers (Keyingham) Veterans, kick-off 1pm. A squad of some seventeen players has been assembled at time of going to print (although this will no doubt shrink by half come Sunday!). All support for “The Awd Ezzies” would be very welcome indeed.
Danny Campbell’s “Junior Football Academy” takes a break now until the New Year (12th). Saturday’s final session of 2007 saw 15 boys and girls present with each receiving a small Christmas gift from the Club in appreciation of their efforts during the year. Danny is also to be congratulated for his work throughout 2007 and hopefully he’ll have more success – and perhaps a team to come out of it – in 2008?
