Reserves v Long Riston
ER County FA Senior Country Cup Round 2
Sat 1st Nov - Low Farm - Kick-Off: 2.00pm
The Eastenders Reserves will look to kick-start their season by hopefully creating a minor upset in the East Riding Senior Country Cup this afternoon.
Humber Premier League Division 1 strugglers Long Riston come to Low Farm with Stiffs boss Craig Smalley hoping that a change of competition can bring about a change in fortune.
Having described his side's display at Reckitts last Saturday as their "best so far" (despite a 2-5 scoreline) Smalley is boosted by the hitherto unheard of "full fourteen" available for the tie.
Added to the eleven on duty last weekend are Anthony Barnett, Adam Metcalf, Steve Tennyson and James Mee while the only changes come in goal, where the injured Callum McLeod is replaced by Pete Waddingham, and up front where Darren Thompson's ongoing transfer to Hedon United could free up a spot for Barnett. There is no place in the squad for last week's "no show", Jonny Hairsine.
Barnett will hope to get a run after a couple of subs' slots at first team level in previous weeks and is eligible due to missing the senior squad's Senior Cup defeat at Pocklington. Metcalf was away last weekend, while Tennyson and Mee are both back from injury with Tennyson having enjoyed his first action for three weeks when coming off the bench in the HPL win over Cleethorpes last Saturday.
Opponents Long Riston arrive as the bottom club in the Humber Premier League with just one win and nine defeats in their ten games so far. However, with the Stiffs lying in a similar position in the ER County League Premier Division - and winless in four matches - nothing but another difficult afternoon is forecast for Smalley's men.
Reserves (from): Waddingham, Findley, Hollingsworth, Fisk, Foster, Rice, McLaughlin, Hutchinson, Barnett, D Clubley, Page, Tennyson, Metcalf, Mee
Referee: Mr. Tony Cherry (Hull)
Casuals v Molescroft Rangers Reserves
ER County League Division 4
Sat 1st Nov - Low Farm - Kick-Off: 2.00pm
Buoyed by last week's first win of the season, the Casuals go into this afternoon's match against Molescroft Rangers Reserves also helped by having a full complement available for almost the first time this season.
Keeping faith with those who toppled leaders Viking Raiders Reserves, Manager McNaught has added Ian Carrick to the thirteen on duty; he comes in for Pete Waddingham who is again seconded to keep goal further up the tree!
Rich Clubley is fit again after sustaining a whack on his ankle last Saturday but there is no place for Jonny Hairsine who has been omitted from the Reserves squad.
Visitors Molescroft have enjoyed a steady if unspectacular start, winning two and drawing two of their opening seven games. Last weekend saw them win 2-1 at Eastrington Village. They also pushed early pacesetters Roos and Wawne Ferry Reserves all the way before losing 1-3 and 3-4 respectively.
Casuals (probable): Eldon, D Rutter, T Biglin, Brown, I McNaught, D Campbell, Ward, A McNaught, R Clubley, Milbank, Newsam (Subs) Turley, Feeney, Carrick
Referee: Mr. P. Sugden (Keyingham)
NOTE: Both games are subject to a pitch inspection at 10am following heavy rainfall during the week.
