Holderness Advertiser 12th March
TWO goals in as many minutes midway through the first half consigned Easington United to a second successive away defeat in the Humber Premier League.
Stuart Lacy scored in the 28th and 29th minutes to help Barton Town OB Reserves come from a goal behind to win 2-1 at The Euronics Ground.
The win was well deserved by the hosts who hit the post twice before Jimmy Neilson headed Easington into a 23rd minute lead totally against the run of play. Despite an improved showing by the visitors in the second half, the South Bank side held on to record a valuable win in their struggle at the wrong end of the table.
Afterwards Easington boss Dave Mackay-Dundas said, “They wanted it more than us and they were more clinical at crucial parts of the game. I’m particularly disappointed with the attitude some of the players are showing at the moment, which is being reflected in the level of performance.”
Mackay-Dundas must now try and rally his troops ahead of this weekend’s Holderness Derby against Hornsea Town at Low Farm, wherein a win is essential if United’s hopes of improving on their current placing of seventh are to be maintained.
The manager will hope to have skipper Neil Rutter, Steve Harrod and Mike Nicholson available after all three missed the Barton game. However, Ollie Musgrove is away and Tony Hunt picked up a nasty looking ankle injury which must render him doubtful.
After a blank fixture last Saturday, the Eastenders Reserves return to action away at Skidby Miller in the County League Premier Division. In Division 4, the Casuals entertain Division 4 title favourites Westella Juniors on “The Pitch Across The Ditch” looking to arrest a run of six straight defeats.

CLUB NOTES
The First Team entertain Hornsea Town at Low Farm this week looking to arrest their recent run of poor results. Mack hopes to be able to call upon Rutter, Harrod and Nicholson but will be without the absent Ollie Musgrove. Meanwhile, Tony Hunt must be considered doubtful following the injury he sustained last weekend.
After a fine sixth placed finish in 2006/07, Hornsea have struggled this season although they arrive at Low Farm on the back of a creditable draw at Hutton Cranswick last weekend. They also come looking for a rare league double following their 3-2 success at the Hollis Rec. back in November.
In the County League Premier Division the Eastenders Reserves go to Skidby Millers looking for the win that could just about guarantee top-flight status next season. In Division 4 the Casuals entertain title favourites Westella Juniors on “The Pitch Across The Ditch”.
Thanks to Middlegate Europe Ltd for their match sponsorship of last Saturday’s Casuals game.

Further details can be obtained by ringing Craig Foster on 01964 630933.
The Junior Football Academy takes another break this week but will resume next Saturday (21 March). In case of adverse weather / pitch conditions, please check with Daniel on 07703 517525 beforehand.
