Holderness Advertiser 22nd November
THERE is a second ‘Holderness Derby’ in store in the Humber Premier League this Saturday when Easington United entertain Hedon Rangers at Low Farm (2.00pm).
Easington come into the game buoyed by their third win in four games, following success in another all-Holderness affair last weekend against Hedon United.
The Eastenders won 3-0 at Drapers Lane thanks to a first half strike from Steve Harrod, which was followed by late goals from sub Adam Metcalf and Mike Nicholson.
The accompanying clean sheet was also the Eastenders’ third in four matches and manager Mackay-Dundas has been really encouraged by the response his players have shown since slumping to four successive defeats in October.
Kenny Harrison’s Rangers sides always provide a decent game of football and results such as their 3-0 win over North Ferriby – the only defeat suffered by Darren France’s side in the league this term – show what they’re capable of.
Kevin Milner and Dave Walmsley could both come back into the reckoning for Easington but Chris Senior is still sidelined by a back problem and Ollie Musgrove is on ERCFA Representative duty.
Also gaining County honours this weekend are Luke Jeffery and Tom McLaughlin. Both have been selected to play for the ERCFA U16 squad in Cumbria.
Both the Reserves and Casuals are scheduled to be in County League action on Saturday. The Reserves are at FC Ridings in the H. E. Dean Cup while the Casuals will be looking for their third straight win when they go to Division 4 leaders Skidby Millers.

CLUB NOTES
Forthcoming Fixtures / Team News:
There is a Holderness Derby in store for “the Farm Faithful” this weekend as Hedon Rangers visit Low Farm (2.00pm).
Eastenders boss Dave Mack could have assistant Dave Walmsley and Kevin Milner both back vying for places but Chris Senior is still out through injury and Ollie Musgrove could be missing due to ERCFA Junior Rep duty.
The Reserves return to action in the league’s H.E. Dean Cup with a trip to Premier Division strugglers FC Ridings. First team call-ups permitting, manager John Clarke will hope to involve most of the squad that won at Holme Rovers last time out, with Steve Eldon or Andy Collins expected to replace Rutter in goal.
For the first time in weeks all three teams are set to be in action and the Casuals face a tough test of their new-found confidence as they head off to the infamous Skidby slope to take on current Division 4 leaders Skidby Millers Reserves.
Other News:
Congratulations to Luke Jeffery and Tom McLaughlin on their selection for the East Riding County FA Under-16’s Representative side this weekend.
Along with the Easington Recreation & Sports Association, the Club would like to thank Alistair McHardy and Amec for their help with the recent “bridging” activity at the Low Farm Rec. & Sports Ground.
Finally, thanks to Sue & Bob White for helping out at short notice last Saturday to ensure both teams received some well-deserved post-match refreshments.
