BACK-TO-BACK local derbies await Easington United as they look to build on their recent run of improved form in the Humber Premier League.
The Eastenders face the short trip to Hedon United this Saturday before entertaining Hedon Rangers a week later, having completed their second 4-0 win in the last three games last weekend.
The latest victory, against Barton Town OB Reserves at Low Farm, was built on a solid first half display into the wind and capped by three goals in five second half minutes.
Paul Wilkinson came off the bench to help play a part in all four goals. The returning striker teed up Ian Barrow for the first just past the hour mark before converting the second from a Danny Medforth corner in the 73rd minute.
Two minutes later Wilkinson again turned provider for Mike Nicholson, before Steve Harrod’s first of the season made it 4-0 on 77mins, after goalkeeper Mike Burley had failed to hold Wilkinson’s shot.
Manager Dave Mackay-Dundas is without assistant Dave Walmsley and Kevin Milner for Saturday’s trip to Drapers Lane and Chris Senior is also doubtful.
He may therefore turn to the Reserves for replacements. They cemented their mid-table position in the County League Premier Division with a hard-fought 1-0 win at Holme Rovers, thanks to Darren Thompson’s seventh league goal of the season.
The Reserves are without a game this weekend but the Casuals return to action away at Long Riston Reserves in the league cup.

CLUB NOTES
Forthcoming Fixtures / Team News:
There are just the two fixtures occupying attention again this weekend, due to Old George’s involvement in the West Riding County Cup, which has forced postponement of the Reserves’ scheduled League Cup tie at Low Farm.
Both games that remain are away. The First Team make the short trip to Drapers Lane to meet Hedon United with manager Mack without assistant Dave Walmsley and Kevin Milner, while Chris Senior is also a doubt. The Reserves’ lack of a fixture could therefore lead to “promotion” for several of its members.
The Casuals go to Long Riston Reserves in the Harold Robinson Cup. Club captain Neil Rutter may be one of those queuing up to try and find a place in manager Clubley’s ranks. Also expected to be back challenging for places are Iain McNaught, Darren Dawson, Mike Hooley, Joni Purse and Jodi Stow – it could be an interesting decision-making week for manager Clubley!
Other News:
The winning Golden Goal time on Saturday was 64mins.
Thanks to R. H. Webster & Co, The Post Office, Easington for Saturday’s HPL match sponsorship.
