EASINGTON United go to title-chasing North Ferriby Reserves this weekend with some confidence restored following their return to winning ways in the Humber Premier League.
Two of the best goals of the season illuminated the Eastenders’ 4-0 success against Hessle Rangers at Brough – and both came from full backs!
Craig Smalley and Kevin Milner struck excellent long-range volleys as part of a three-goal blast inside eight first half minutes.
In between Ollie Musgrove scored the Eastenders’ second, following a fine passing move, as Easington established a commanding lead.
Substitute Mike Nicholson rounded off the victory with the last kick of the game.
One of the biggest positives to come out of the game was a first clean sheet in five matches.
The aforementioned Smalley and Milner were impressive as were John Batch and Andy Graham in a back four behind which goalkeeper Kevin Appleyard made an assured return from suspension.
There was also positive news from the Reserves camp. John Clarke’s side became the first this season to take a point off County League Premier Division leaders Old George, Darren Thompson scoring both goals in a 2-2 draw.
Even the disappointment of letting a two-goal lead slip away couldn’t detract from Clarke’s pleasure at his injury-hit team’s battling display.
Casuals’ manager Doug Clubley was similarly encouraged by his depleted squad’s spirit despite a fifth straight league defeat at Division 4 leaders Dads FC.
With the Reserves inactive this week, the Casuals take centre-stage at Low Farm where they entertain Leven Members Reserves (2.00pm).

CLUB NOTES
Forthcoming Fixtures / Team News:
The First Team travel to the Police Sports Ground, Inglemire Lane this Saturday to meet North Ferriby United Reserves for the third time this season.
Manager Dave Mack is without Stuart Campbell (away) but should welcome Steve Harrod back and could also recall Chris Senior following three appearances at reserve team level.
North Ferriby were inactive last Saturday but remain well in contention at the top of the HPL. The two previous meetings have both come at Low Farm, a 3-3 draw in the league being followed by Easington’s 1-0 success in the league cup.
The Reserves are without a game in the County League so all attention at home will be on the Casuals who entertain Leven Members Reserves.
Manager Clubley has seen Luke Hobson transfer to Withernsea and is without Iain McNaught (holiday), Dooley Cousins (work) and Joni Purse (injury). Chris Smith also remains doubtful. However, he will hope to have Matty Purse, Jodi Stow and Steve Redman all available, while Biff McNaught and Luke Jeffery could also come into contention following recent lack of games at reserve team level.
Other News:
The Casuals’ scheduled fixture at Withernsea 3rds on 11 November is off due to The Seasiders’ involvement in the ER Junior Country Cup.
This Saturday sees a Coffee Morning being held in the Community Hall in aid of Club Funds (10am).
Finally, a reminder that training has now moved to Endeavour on Monday nights (7-8pm).
