Holderness Advertiser 5th July
EASINGTON United began their preparations for their Diamond Jubilee season when they resumed training last week ahead of a busy schedule of friendly fixtures.
The first of these takes place next Tuesday (11th) when North Ferriby United visit Low Farm for a 6.45pm kick-off. Brian France’s side are undoubtedly the top Non-League side in the area and last season went desperately close to achieving promotion in their first campaign in Unibond League Premier Division. They will provide a stiff test of how Dave Mackay-Dundas’s squad is shaping up.
The Eastenders have further home games against Pontefract Sports & Social (15th), Hull City Juniors (21st), the East Riding County Juniors (2nd August) and Leicester League side Desford FC (5th) as well as undertaking away trips to Brandesburton (27th July) and HPL newcomers Long Riston (9th August).
The game against the ERCFA Juniors provides the climax to a “3 Lions FC” Football Fun Week that the Club is staging in conjunction with the County FA at Low Farm. The three-day course begins on Monday, 31st August and is available to boys and girls aged 6-14. Further details can be obtained from the ERCFA office on 01482-221158.
Meanwhile the Eastenders are also celebrating promotion for both their County League squads. The Reserves, who finished fourth in Division 1, will play in the Premier Division in 2006/07 while the Casuals have been rewarded for a third place finish in Division 5 by promotion to Division 4.

High-flying Ferriby kick-off busy summer schedule
NORTH Ferriby United provide attractive opponents to kick-off Easington United’s Diamond Jubilee season at Low Farm next Tuesday (6.45pm).
The visitors are the top Non-League side in the area and last season went desperately close to achieving promotion in their first campaign in the UniBond League Premier Division. Having led the table virtually all season, only a play-off final defeat at Farsley Celtic deprived them of a place in the Conference North.
Brian France’s side will therefore provide a stiff test for Dave Mackay-Dundas’s Easington squad, which in turn may contain one or two new faces following the resumption of training last week.
The players not lucky enough to figure against North Ferriby are likely to be given a run-out in the team that plays West Yorkshire League side Pontefract Sports & Social Reserves at Low Farm on Saturday week (15th), kick-off 3.00pm.
Easington then entertain Hull City Juniors (Fri 21st) before going to Brandesburton (Thu 27th). Home games follow against the East Riding County Juniors (Wed 2nd August) and Leicester League side Desford FC (Sat 5th) before the Eastenders round things off with a trip to HPL newcomers Long Riston (Wed 9th).
The game against the ERCFA Juniors provides the climax to a “3 Lions FC” Football Fun Week that Easington United are staging in conjunction with the County FA at Low Farm. The three-day course begins on Monday, 31st August and is available to boys and girls aged 6-14. Further details can be obtained from the ERCFA office on 01482-221158.
The pre-season schedule provides an attractive looking start to what it’s hoped will be a memorable Anniversary season, culminating in a celebratory dinner dance at the Country Park Inn, Hessle in June 2007.
Meanwhile the Eastenders are celebrating promotion for both their County League squads. The Reserves, who finished fourth in Division 1, will play in the Premier Division in 2006/07 while the Casuals have been rewarded for a third place finish in Division 5 by promotion to Division 4.
Finally the Club would like to thank Ted Roberts for his sterling efforts at Low Farm over the past few weeks, which are greatly appreciated, and also send our best wishes to “Committee Award” winner Jeff Sugden for a continued recovery following his recent hospitalisation.
